The benefits of painting your truck with a high-quality bed liner coating shouldn’t be underestimated. By painting your truck, you can protect surfaces from the corrosion, scratches, and wear and tear that is part and parcel of owning a 4WD vehicle, especially if you use your truck for work or off-roading.
Spray-on liners offer an even, abrasion-resistant coating that can be added with ease at home as ShedHeads explains:
“Painting your truck’s bed with liner at home is a great option price-wise but does take time, patience and a well-ventilated area. When looking for a paint-on bed liner for use at home there are a multitude of products available. The paint itself will usually be either water-based or contain some fashion of solvent, and may come in either a one-stage or two-stage (i.e. mix-it-yourself) variety.”
Our Raptor Bed Liner Paint Coatings have received fantastic reviews – just like this one from Top 10 Notch. They’re also available in black, white and tintable to ensure a hard-wearing, durable, waterproof, UV-stable finish that’ll do your 4WD vehicle justice.

Select
Choosing the Raptor Bed Liner Paint Coating for your vehicle is easy. Raptor’s vehicle-specific kits are available for every vehicle from the Dacia Duster to the Fiat Fullback.
Once you’ve found the kit for you, it’s time to double up. The majority of medium to large-sized 4x4s and cars need two Raptor kits. Those looking to just overhaul their truck bed or interior floor will need one 4-litre product, whilst vans will require much more.
Protect
It’s recommended that you wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during the preparation and application phases. This includes latex gloves, safety glasses, protective overalls and an appropriate spray mask.
Prepare
Preparing the surface of your vehicle for application is a vital part of the process and also the most time-consuming.
To ensure adhesion, key the surface thoroughly. You should then use a tack cloth to wipe away any excess debris and dust. Raptor can also be applied on top of a solvent or water-based base coat.
Pour
If you’re looking to tint your Raptor Liner, now is the time to colour the solution. Create your desired shade by adding up to 10% of your chosen solvent-based automotive paint.
Whether you are opting for black, white or tinted, you should pour the activated Raptor mixture into a paint tray to prepare for application.
Apply
Raptor can be applied via roller, brush or spray gun. Choose a fine roller for a flat effect or a coarse roller for a coarse texture. If you wish to spray on your liner, a 6 HP compressor with a 150 PSI line pressure is recommended. For the very best results, always use Raptor applicator guns or rollers.
Apply your coating in long, uniform strokes with medium pressure, watching out for lines. Avoid oversaturating the surface to guarantee an even finish.
You’ll need to apply two coats, and allow for drying time in between. While Raptor Liners are well known for being quick drying, you can dry bake for 30 minutes to speed up the drying process. Please note, dry baking will not reduce the curing time.
Enjoy
Your Raptor Bed Liner needs time to cure, with heavy use best avoided until 7 days after initial application. The surface should also be kept clean and dry for 3 days post-application. After curing, it’s time to enjoy your new look truck!
