Many shock absorbers are designed for road use only. Even most 4WD vehicles are sold as new with basic suspension components which are not intended for more than light off road use. When conditions get tough, standard dampers are prone to failure. Many manufacturers use low quality seals, which are prone to leaking. Outer tube walls can be thin and incapable to surviving impacts. Due to these limitations, shock absorbers are the most failure-prone suspension component.
After many years in the shock absorber industry, and already the market leader in heavy duty dampers for buses, trucks, military vehicles and railway carriages, Koni set out develop two distinct products for the 4WD market. Both product ranges are offered within the RAID product family: RAID and Heavy Track. For those unfamiliar with the term, RAID refers to long-distance off-road racing, with competitions and events usually taking place over several days.
Heavy Track shock absorbers are more durable than most off-road shocks on the market, offering a higher level of safety, more stability and better road-holding.
Koni Heavy Track shocks are off-vehicle adjustable. This allows you to adjust the rebound forces in order to correctly pair your damper to your springs or constant loads, to enhance performance and increase lifespan. Now you can bring high-level race technology to your 4WD or truck, with large reserves of damping capability and the ability to withstand high temperatures.

No, shock absorbers alone will never lift a vehicle or change its ride height.
“What is the difference between RAID and Heavy Track Raid?”
Raid shocks are 360 degree welded and have thicker outer walls and a larger 70mm body diameter. Heavy Track, part of the Raid product family, have a 50mm body diameter. Whilst Heavy Track is a heavy duty product and is suited to most conditions, Raid shocks are also suited to competition and extreme uses.
