When driving off road, the underside of your vehicle is prone to damage from grounding or from rocks and debris. Correct driving technique is important, but it is all too easy to cause serious damage to your vehicle or even to leave yourself stranded as a result of a mishap. Underbody repairs can be very costly and this is why skid plates are one of our top selling products.
There are various different types of underbody protection on the market, and we have seen kits made from material as thin as 1.5mm which really offers no protection at all. Thanks to Rival though, you now have the option to properly protect your vehicle. A wide range of kits are offered, with differing levels of protection and also a choice of 3mm steel, 4mm aluminium, or 6mm aluminium for ultimate protection.
Skid plate design is also critical to proper functioning. Rival underbody protection is press-formed using huge 350 ton presses and this makes a significant difference to durability and to how the plate behaves upon impact. Many plates have cut-outs for oil changes and ventillation, and aluminium plates have the benefit of reduced weight whilst still offering top-level protection.

“Will this kit fit my car without modification?”
Yes, Rival skid plates are designed to fit without drilling or modification.
“Is steel or aluminium a better choice?”
Steel can be used to make thinner guards which are very durable, but aluminium is significantly lighter and is our preferred choice in most cases.
“Is this product compatible with my existing aftermarket bumper or other modifications??”

“Can I buy single replacement Rival guards if needed?”

The engineers at Rival have gone to great lengths to minimise impact on ground clearance. Also, Rival plates are designed not to catch in reverse.
