Buzz Overland was founded in the UK in 2019 by Alex Parpottas and Ryan Thomson. Both Parpottas and Thomson already had extensive experience in the 4WD market, with Thomson being a skilled fabricator and product designer and Parpottas having established Jeep specialist Buzz Special Vehicles in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.

The company was set up with a specific purpose – to design and manufacture high-end storage systems and related products for the European and US markets. With a surprisingly limited range of this type of accessory being available from their competitors, and armed with a clear idea of what they wanted to offer, it was not long before Parpottas and Thomson debuted their first products.

Initially, the company focused on developing products for the new Ineos Grenadier. This vehicle model had long been in development and was slowly coming to market, with demo and test vehicles being deployed to shows and events across Europe. Response to the new model was strong and Buzz Overland got to word in developing a modular system for the rear load area of the vehicle.

It seemed logical that, given the premium price of the vehicle model, customers would want a high-end accessory range to compliment it. Furthermore, customers might not be keen on the idea of drilling lots of holes in their brand new vehicle. To avoid drilling or modifications, Buzz developed a novel concept: the Cargo Floor Base. This large metal panel would cover the floor area in the rear of the vehicle and would be the base to which the rest of the system would attach.

With the Cargo Floor Base designed and ready, a range of further upgrades took shape. This included drawer units, a fridge slide, a drawer housing for a Waeco slide-out drawer fridge, a mounting solution for ARB compressors and a sturdy shelf. The system was completed with a cargo guard and a stainless steel table.

The exterior of the Grenadier benefitted from the expertise of the designers at Buzz too, with bespoke lighting solutions and brake upgrades among the products in their range. Their lighting tech comes courtesy of US manufacturer RIGID, whilst their braking technology is developed and tested in the UK.

In the years that followed, Buzz Overland worked on developing products for other vehicle models. As a dynamic and evolving business, their design team is always working on something new, only bringing their innovations to the public when they have been perfected and tested extensively.

The main aim of the company is to develop products which are useful in everyday life but with the quality and durability needed to tackle the toughest overland and off-road situations. Across Europe, the USA and beyond, Buzz products can be found on some of the most premium 4WD builds and they get a lot of attention at 4×4 shows and camp meets.
