Husar Winch, or rather their parent company Kwella SP, was founded in 2020 in Jawiszowice, Poland, by Leszek Janusz Kwella. The company was established to supply high quality industrial equipment to military and manufacturing facilities, including lifting equipment, hoists and winches.

4×4 and industrial winches are nothing new, and the products have been available across the works for more than 75 years. However, the quality and accessibility has changed greatly over recent years. Since low mount winches became popular in the 1980s, smaller and more powerful units have appeared on the market and these have been used for many purposes.

Most visibly, winches are often installed on 4WD vehicles and camper vans or motorhomes to enable to driver to either self-rescue, or to recover others. Recovery trucks often sport high-capacity winches on their load beds and similar units are used for launching or recovering boats and even manoeuvring light aircraft.

In manufacturing and construction, both winches and hoists are used commonly, and there is a significant difference between the designs of the two products. Whilst winches are intended for moving horizontal loads, their clutch and brake design is not well suited to vertical lifting and this is where hosts are intended to be used. From moving tooling and machinery in factories to specialist construction, crane building, oil rigs and more, hoists are essential equipment in many industrial settings.
