In winter, there is an equal demand for spreaders, and Meyer developed several ranges for different types of users. From towbar mounted spreaders to larger bed mounted salt and brine units, the range was ever growing and Meyer had a product for everyone from the lowest scale user to the largest commercial application. Meyer products were becoming a familiar sight on the roads, at airports, in public car parks, at schools and elsewhere.
2015 brought a merger with the ASH Group, Europe’s leading manufacturer of snow ploughs, spreaders and control systems. ASH Group already owned two major European brands – Schmidt and Aebi – who were globally recognised and were offering primarily industrial products for both winter and summer maintenance. Schmidt and Aebi were largely focused on industrial sectors, with equipment most suited to commercial, airport and railway use, so Meyer was a perfect fit for ASH Group with their smaller products and huge customer base.
After many decades of dealing with the harshest of American winters, Meyer was well placed to offer their products into the UK and European markets. Meyer have always been known for high quality and for long-lasting products in a market where the cheapest ploughs may only last one or two seasons. Whilst not the cheapest winter products out there, when you buy Meyer you are buying a product which will last and last.
