Rival 4×4 is a global company which has made a significant impact on the global 4×4 market in the past two decades. Founded in 2006 as a specialist manufacturer of high-grade accessories for the eastern European 4WD industry, Rival’s products soon found their way onto police and military vehicles in several countries.

Working closely with vehicle manufacturers including Renault , Ford and Toyota, Rival were able to grow quickly and within less than 10 years, the company was operating from a purpose-built 150,000 sq ft production facility and producing more than 80,000 skid plates per month.

Skid plates are the core of Rival’s product range, with over 500 part numbers in their catalogue. The company realised that more and more low-quality eastern European skid plates were becoming available, sometimes in bright colours, and made from thin material. This type of product has very little functional benefit and may even worsen damage to the vehicle’s mechanical components in the case of a collision, but many 4×4 owners were fitting these kits the their SUVs and trucks.

Rival’s aim has always been to develop products which look good and enhance the vehicle’s aesthetics, but most importantly offer robust protection and longevity. From the high-grade polyester powder coating to the built-in reinforcements and the quality of all associated fittings and fasteners, Rival skid plates are second to none in terms of design and build quality. The company has invested heavily in state-of-the-art machinery, including robot welders, 350-ton presses, CAD scanners and plasma cutters.

Although best known for their skid plate range, Rival also product aluminium bumpers for 4WD vehicles, expedition roof racks, winch mounts, hood and tailgate strut kits, and other products.

In the past decade, Rival have established distribution and engineering centres in Germany, USA, Australia and the Middle East. This network allows for short leads times on parts and spares and gives the company a regional focus in various markets. There are Rival dealers in more than 60 countries, spanning every continent.

From commercial users such as agricultural workers, rescue organisations, charities and NGOs to hunters, adventurers and off-road travellers, Rival is seen as the premium choice for a properly engineered and long-lasting product.
